The incident comes weeks after a section of a two-storey residential building collapsed in Abuja’s Kubwa area.

In that case, four people were rescued, while an unconfirmed number of others were initially feared trapped.

The Kubwa building was located close to Cupid Hotel on Sultan Dasuki Way.

Security operatives are already on ground for rescue mission and preventing looting from criminals.

Two weeks ago, there was panic in Lagos after a two-storey building collapsed on Amusu Street, in the Orile Iganmu area of the State.

A viral video online showed that the building caved in as residents nearby scampered for safety.

The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Damilola Oke-Osanyitolu, who confirmed the incident in a statement, stated that the collapse occurred due to the building’s age.

He also explained that the occupants had been advised to exit the structure but refused.

He, however, confirmed that all occupants escaped unscathed as no casualties were recorded after the collapse.
