Nigerian artist and filmmaker Ambassador Willie Workman Oga has released a new hit record titled Peace Song, featuring reggae artists Faya and King Savage.
Ambassador Workman whose song Mother Nature received a 2022 Europe Music Award nomination, has been making Radio, Television and Internet blitz with his latest beat – Peace Song.
Since the release of the song on ekl recordz, Workman has received performance invitations to spread the message of PEACE and JUSTICE which are eroding from human communities.
His artistic contribution to a just world earned him a nomination for the UN IAWP as a Peace Ambassador.
He told TheNiche that the inspiration for the Peace Song was borne out of his desire to use his artistic gift to promote the message of peace in a conflict-riddled world.
He said: “As I sat down to write a ‘Peace Song,’ I was driven by a deep longing for harmony in a world torn apart by conflict, inequality and division. World and domestic news is often filled with stories of strife and suffering, and I couldn’t help but wonder; what if we could create a world where everyone lived in perfect peace and harmony?”
Workman added; “My inspiration came from the realization that peace is not just the absence of war, but a state of mind. It’s a choice we make as humans in every day of our lives, in every interaction, and in every decision. I wanted to capture this essence in my song.”
Workman said while growing up, he witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of conflict on communities and families. “I saw how it tore people apart, leaving scars that would take generations to heal. But I also saw the resilience of the human spirit, the capacity for forgiveness, and the power of love.”
Workman said those experiences shaped his desire to contribute to a more peaceful world through music and personal interactions.
He added: “I believe that music can transcend borders, cultures, religions and languages, speaking directly to our shared humanity. Peace Song is more than just a song – it’s a call to action. It’s a reminder that we all have the power to create change, starting from within. I hope that my song inspires listeners to; embrace empathy and understanding, choose love over hate, seek common ground, stand up for justice, heal hearts and encourage a world filled with humane and forgiveness.”
Workman believes in the message of hope and unity, encouraging everyone to join hands in building a brighter, more harmonious future for all mankind.
