By Ohuakanwa Chibuzo

In a sharp critique, actor-turned-politician Kenneth Okonkwo has expressed his dismay at Nigerians who once opposed a fuel price of N140 per litre but are now willing to pay N1000 per litre. Okonkwo’s comments came in response to the ongoing fuel scarcity crisis, which has forced many Nigerians to endure long hours in queues at filling stations across the country.

Okonkwo, known for his outspoken views, took to his social media Twitter (X) to highlight what he perceives as a contradiction in the public’s stance on fuel prices. He recalled past protests at Ojota, where many Nigerians vehemently rejected a proposed increase to N140 per litre, contrasting it with the current situation where citizens are now paying nearly seven times that amount without similar resistance.
