Former Liverpool centre back, Jamie Carragher has claimed France and Spain would rather play England than face the Netherlands in the final of Euro 2024.
He made the assertion recently, while speaking with The Daily Telegraph.
France, Spain, England and the Netherlands have all advanced to the semi-final stage of the Euro 2024 .
However, The Three Lions have failed to hit top gear in Germany so far.
Gareth Southgate’s men survived another huge scare in their quarter-final clash with Switzerland, winning on penalties to keep their hopes in the competition alive.
Speaking on England’s performance so far, Carragher argued that the winner of the semi final encounter between France and Spain will want England to win the other last four match against the Dutch.

According to him, England is yet to hit the ground running and teams will believe they can beat them in that form.
Carragher said, “What baffles me is how so little the England team is functioning correctly.
“To be positive, we can say they are holding up defensively. Again, the caveat is they are yet to play a side with any world-class forwards.
“The French and Spanish will want to play England in the final because they will be confident they will create the opportunities which others have not taken.”
