Prior to this, Chelsea had lost the first leg 1-0 to Michael Carrick’s side, thus making the aggregate score 6-2.

The Blues after the victory, will now face Fulham or Liverpool in the final next month at the Wembley Stadium.

Pochettino, who was appointed as head coach of Chelsea last summer, failed to win a trophy over five-and-a-half years at Tottenham.

The ex-Paris Saint-Germain boss is now  eager to break his trophyless run in England.

“I am desperate to win a title here. There is your headline! We won three trophies in Paris in 18 months and we want to win here. I am desperate to win of course.

“Fulham or Liverpool are two amazing teams, so it will be difficult, but now is the moment to believe we can win. It’s an important step for us,” Pochettino said.
