Buhari hails APC after winning Imo, Kogi guber elections

Buhari also wished Gov Uzodinma and his newly elected counterpart, Ododo all the best in their tenures

Nigeria’s immediate past president,  Muhammadu Buhari has lauded his party, the All Progressives Congress, (APC) for emerging victorious in the recently concluded  Kogi and Imo States gubernatorial elections.

His congratulatory message was conveyed via a statement issued on Monday by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, where he appreciated the people of the two states for reaffirming their confidence in APC.

The statement reads: “Former President Muhammadu Buhari congratulates the All Progressives Congress @OfficialAPCNg on winning the Governorship elections in Imo and Kogi States, and thanked the people of the two states for reaffirming their confidence in the nation’s most prominent political party.

“The former President thanks particularly the party leaders and the workers who laboured tirelessly to ensure the re-emergence of Senator Hope Uzodimma @Hope_Uzodimma1 for his second term in Imo State, and Alhaji Usman Ododo @OfficialOAU as the new Governor of Kogi State”.

Buhari went on to wish the re-elected governor and his newly elected counterpart all the best in their tenures.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on Sunday, November 12, declared that Governor Hope Uzodinma, the candidate of APC, won the Imo governorship election.

Similarly, the electoral umpire pronounced Usman Ododo of the ruling party the governor-elect in Kogi State after securing victory in Saturday’s governorship poll.

Meanwhile, the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje has stated that the re-election of Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma and the victory of the Kogi State gubernatorial candidate of his party, Usman Ododo in Saturday’s governorship polls are testimonials to the good work of the ruling party.

The former Kano State governor, made this known while congratulating the duo in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu.
