Muka Ray appointed Kwara governor’s aide

Known mainly for appearing in Yoruba movies, Muka Ray grew up acting and at the same time schooling both in Kwara and Lagos.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara has appointed Nollywood actor, Eyiwumi Aramide popularly known as Muka Ray, as his Senior Special Assistant on Culture and Tourism.

The governor’s Chief Press Secretary Rafiu Ajakaye made this known in a statement on Thursday.

The government also announced the appointment on Twitter.

Ajakaye said that the new appointee hails from Ipetu/Rore/Aran-Orin Ward in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.

Muka Ray was born on April 19, 1969. He graduated from AUD Primary School, Osogbo. From there, he proceeded to Aran Orin Comprehensive High School, Kwara State and later to Kwara State Polytechnic for his tertiary education.

Known mainly for appearing in Yoruba movies, the movie star grew up acting and at the same time schooling both in Kwara and Lagos. When he was much younger, his father was a well-known professional actor. The late Pa Eyiwumi brought him into the world of acting.

Stage performance was Muka Ray’s first job. He reportedly earned 50 kobo for his first performance. Muka Ray acted as the king’s errand boy for his father who played the role of the king. The play was titled ‘Edie Ba Lokun’.

Muka Ray is married and has children. His first daughter Mariam is an entrepreneur who runs a fabric store online.

He was one time rumoured to be in a relationship with fellow movie star, Iyabo Ojo.
