Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has made a bizarre request to the Ghanaian Football Association(GFA) ahead of the World Cup qualifier between the two countries.

The Super Eagles are billed to take on their Ghanaian counterparts on the 25th of March at the Cape Coast Stadium, with the return leg expected to hold on the 29th of March at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

According to Soccernet.ng, a prominent Ghanaian sports journalist, Nuhu Adams, said the NFF requested 10,000 tickets ahead of the first leg clash set to take place in Ghana.

The stadium was reported by the ace reporter to have a maximum of 15,000 sitting capacity for fans.

NFF’s ticket request will mean it wants two-thirds of the space at the arena, which amounts to close to 70 percent of the entire stadium capacity, despite playing away from home.

Although the response of the GFA has not been made official, the request has been deemed absurd by Ghanaians and the entire footballing community.

The match between Nigeria and Ghana is one of the five final playoff matches to pick the five African representatives at the world soccer fiesta billed to take place between November and December of 2022 in Qatar.

In the other matches, The Pharaohs of Egypt will face African champions, Senegal, The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will play Algeria, DR Congo will clash with The Atlas Lions of  Morocco, while Mali will slug it out with The Carthage Eagles of Tunisia.

However, while Nigeria have released a 32-man provisional squad list for the encounter, Ghana are yet to make their list known, and it’s causing anxiety among the Black Stars fans.
