English journalist and television personality, Piers Morgan, has called on Arsenal hierarchy to sack the Gunners coach, Mikel Arteta.

He made the call via his verified Twitter account after Arsenal suffered their second biggest defeat of the season to Liverpool at Anfield.

The team had earlier been walloped 5-0 by defending champion Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium during the third-week matches.

But after losing the first three games and staying at the bottom of the league, Arteta has since propelled the team to 5th position in the league.

They were also on a 10 games unbeaten run in all competitions,  before they were given a reality check by Liverpool on Sunday evening.

Reacting to the defeat, Piers Morgan, who is a lifelong Arsenal supporter, thinks it’s time to relieve Arteta of his duties.

According to the 56-year-old, he has been backed with money and has been in charge for 100 games and should not be getting beaten by such a margin.

He also added that Arsenal get blown away by good Premier League sides under his watch.

He tweeted:

“Arteta’s been in charge for over 100 games, he spent £150m on players this summer, and we’ve been humiliated by every good Premier League side this season. He’s just not good enough for Arsenal, sorry. #ArtetaOUT”

Another Arsenal fan, simply identified as Will Lane, who is a follower of Piers Morgan on Twitter, however, disagreed with him.

He said the £150 million spent was meant to build the team and to get the last Champions League places.

He added that Arsenal is not in the league with  Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea for now.

“think a lot of Arsenal fans would disagree with this. We’ve spent £150 million in order to build a team that’s capable of getting 4th place league finish, not win the league.

“We’re not in the same fight as City, Chelsea and Liverpool. They’re still a level ahead of us still.” Will Lane argued.
