Eagles, Liberia drop, Cape Verde, CAR move up in FIFA ranking

The Super Eagles and Liberia dropped, while Cape Verde CAR moved up in the latest FIFA ranking. 

The four teams are in the same African World cup qualifying group, which Nigeria lead by 9 points, Cape Verde are second on 7points while Central African Republic (CAR) have 4 and 3 points respectively in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola world ranking.

Nigeria dropped two places from 34th to 36th position, Lone Stars of Liberia, dropped six places from 144th to 150th While Cape Verde and CAR moved up from 77th to 76th and 124 to 115 respectively.

The ranking was released on FIFA’s official website on Thursday, October 21, 2021.

According to completesports.com, in Africa, the Nigeria remain in the fifth position behind Senegal, Tunisia, Morocco, and AFCON champions Algeria.

Meanwhile, Belgium and Brazil maintained first and second places respectively in the world with France replacing England in third spot.

European champion, Italy, are in fourth and England occupy fifth position. 

The next FIFA ranking will be published on 25 November 2021
