Manchester United will likely be without experienced French defender, Raphael  Varane, for the weekend English Premier League (EPL) encounter against Leicester City.

This is due to the groin muscle injury he picked up during the final of the UEFA Nations League played in Italy.

His club, Manchester United, made this known today when it released an official update on his injury to the British press.

“Raphael Varane sustained a groin muscle injury in the UEFA Nations League final and has commenced rehabilitation at the club.

“He will be out for a few weeks.” the statement read.

The center-back was withdrawn during the first half of France’s game with Spain, in which Les Bleus won 2-1 at the San Siro to lift the trophy, dethroning Portugal who won the maiden edition in the process.

Varane will miss Leicester City on Saturday and is likely to miss the home Champions League tie with Atalanta, and league fixtures against Liverpool and North London side, Tottenham.
