Ondo residents plead for developmental projects from Akeredolu

Reactions has been trailing last Saturday’s election which prompted the re-election of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC) and incumbent governor of Ondo state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Residents of Akoko across the four local government areas hailed the peaceful poll and the victory of Akeredolu.


According to Chief Olukemi Oluyemi, the Iyalobirin of Oba  Akoko in Akoko Southwest local  government urged the governor to intensify more efforts on people oriented-programmes that can make life meaningful to the citizenry.

Mrs Oluyemi, an educationist who retired as School Principal, urged the governor to reconsider the fees paid at Adekunle  Ajasin University (AAUA) Akungba and Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo to make them bearable for the down trodden.


Another  respondent, Chief  Ladi  Bello from Akunu-Akoko hailed the peaceful nature of the election and the roles played by security agents who displayed a lot of professionalism in dealing with civil society with decorum, persuasion and not coercion.


Bello urged the governor to use his second term to complete ongoing projects  in Akoko land such as dualization of Ikare township road, Ikaram to Akunu road, the abandoned Okeagbe-Afin-Eshe to Ogbagi road to make transportation of farm crops reach the urban centres.


A woman political analyst, Mrs Lynda Alao said the landslide victory of Akeredolu was an indication that he was on ground and the impact of his administration was felt statewide.


Mrs Alao reminded the governor on the need to reciprocate the confidence reposed on him by the people of the state in voting for him and creditably.
