For the second season in a row, no Nigerian club has made it to the group stage of any CAF club competition.

Wolves was bundled out of the competition after it lost 3-4 on aggregate to AC Leopards of Congo.

It thus became the third Nigerian club to fall to the superior fireworks of AC Leopards. Heartland got eliminated by the same Congolese side on the away goals rule in the 2012 CAF Confederation Cup and Kano Pillars in the 2013 CAF Champions League.

Meanwhile, the team has written to the League Management Company (LMC) requesting the postponement of its league match with Kano Pillars and others in view of the invitation of seven of its first 11 players to the national teams.
