Celebrities come out to vote

Nigerian celebrities seem to be putting their monies where their mouths are.

Many of them did not only encourage people to come out to vote but actually voted themselves.

Reports monitored across social media platforms show that the celebrities trooped out in their numbers to cast their votes on election day.

Singer, Tiwa Savage was spotted showing her PVC as she got out to vote. She was seen voting at her unit in Lekki area of Lagos State.

Nollywood actress and film producer, Omoni Oboli did not just come out to vote, but actually organised and encouraged people to also vote.

The actress was seen in Victoria Garden City organising voters and actually voting herself.

She tweeted severally urging people to come and vote. She posted a picture of herself in VGC which the timeline reads 6 am.

Nigerian singer, Davido went on tweet storm and urged people to go out en masse and vote. He asked people not panic and to go out and vote.

He kept his followers updated through his tweets.

Actress Ini Edo showed her PVC and thumb marked with ink on Instagram, indicating she had voted.

She decried the heavy presence of the military in the election.

“Voted peacefully…I must talk about the unnecessary abduction of my states SSA on security by soldiers to an unknown place in Port Harcourt over an alleged petition by someone in the opposing party and till now, he is incommunicado. I Thot (sic) I heard the military had no role in this election…when has it become the role of the military to investigate elections?” she said.

Another Nigerian actor, Alex Ekubo posted a video on Instagram saying that today is election day.

“Today is a very important day in Nigeria, stop being a couch potato, come out & let your vote count. #NigeriaDecides2019,” he said.
