The cadets, who began the course early last year, now proceed to on-the-job training at airports across the country for Basic Air Traffic Control Licence.

NAMA Managing Director, Ibrahim Abdulsalam, applauded the cadets for their hard work and perseverance throughout the training period “leading to a successful and impressive result.”

He said in a statement that NAMA “is making remarkable progress in bridging the manpower gap in the critical sector of operations.”

In another development, the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos branch of the Aeronautical Information Services Association of Nigeria (AISAN) has held a forum with airline operators and other end users of aeronautical information to appreciate customer satisfaction.

Aeronautical Information Services (AIS), a department in NAMA, provides information that ensures safety and security for airspace users.

The forum, attended by representatives of airlines, aviation agencies, and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), enabled stakeholders to exchange ideas on how aeronautical information could best be managed and disseminated.

AISAN Chairman, Titilayo Ayinde, urged them to cooperate with the agency as it strives to fast track AIS automation.
