Ex-Kogi Gov’s son, Mohammed, leaves APC for PDP

-

Mohammed Ibrahim Idris, the son of a former Governor of Kogi state, Ibrahim Idris, has defected to the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Mohammed left PDP in 2016 for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Announcing his decision on Wednesday in Seke, his ancestral home ward, Mohammed Idris said that he returned to the party nine months ago and was merely formalising his membership.

He said that his decision was due to his renewed conviction that the All Progressives Party has failed the people, both at the federal and (Kogi) state levels.

Mohammed, who left the party in 2016, said that the ruling APC had sank to a level where it was “beyond redemption” and will not be able to “regain the confidence the people had” in them and which brought them to power.

He vowed to work closely with the leadership of the party to ensure it returns to power in the state come 2019. – Punch
