Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, has said that he was the most qualified to succeed Governor Rochas Okorocha in 2019, even-though the governor had endorsed his son-in-law and Chief of Staff, Mr. Uche Nwosu, for the office.

Madumere stated this, while addressing a group from Oguta Local Government Area, Madumere for Better Imo Governance, who paid him a solidarity visit at his country home, Lake Malinda, Achi-Mbieri, Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.

The deputy governor further disclosed that he has the vision and experience to take the state to another level.

Recalling his relationship with the people of oil-producing communities, which Oguta is among, he reminded them that the  peace being enjoyed by them was as a result of some of the interventions he made to ensure that they were not short-changed by the exploration oil firms.

The deputy governor, however, commended his guests for taking up the task of working with him even unsolicited, while describing them as real patriots.

The group, led by Director General, Lady Nneka Oduenyi, from the 11 wards of the local government area, had assured Madumere of its support in achieving his governorship ambition.

Oduenyi said that the deputy governor was a stabilizing factor on peace and development in Imo State.

She also described Madumere as a cool-headed man who could stir the ship of the state to safety.

The apex leader of the group, Igwebike Myriam, disclosed that the group had started with like-minds without the knowledge of the Deputy Governor, which he said was occasioned by his good nature, sincerity, competence and capacity to deliver on any task, having been tested and trusted.

Igwebike  therefore assured the deputy governor of their decision to join hands with other well meaning Imolites to ensure that the state does not make mistake of electing wrong leaders.

For Onyeoma Oduenyi, the mission and the task of working to ensure that Madumere emerges the governor of the state in 2019 followed his endowments and leadership qualities.
