Social media users are beside themselves over the launch of IbomAir, belonging to Akwa Ibom State.
The ceremony was performed today by the state governor, Udom Emmanuel, who has been receiving accolades on social media for the feat.
Senate President, Bukola Saraki, congratulated the governor and the people of the state.
“Congratulations to Governor Udom Emmanuel and the great people of Akwa Ibom State on today’s commissioning of #IbomAir. Such projects demonstrate the ingenuity of PDP-led governments, and the commitment of our party to create jobs and encourage commerce across the nation,” Saraki said on Twitter.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said Emmanuel has done what the federal government could not do when they launched Nigeria Air, saying it was just the logo of the airline that was launched.
“Another first from the @OfficialPDPNig as @MrUdomEmmanuel of @PdpAkwaIbom launched#IbomAir. Three aircraft already at various airports across the country. Where is Nigeria Air that@MBuhari of @OfficialAPCNg scammed Nigeria with? @OfficialAPCNg is a fraud”, PDP said.
Emmanuel said his vision for industrialization in the state can only be achieved with the launch of IbomAir.
“Aviation development cannot be underemphasized if my vision for an industrialized State must be actualized. #IbomAir”, Emmanuel said.
