Yobo confirms rift in Super Eagles camp

-

Two day to kick off of the Brazil 2014 World Cup, all cannot be said to be well in the Super Eagles Nest as team captain, Joseph Yobo has confirmed that indeed, there is a ‘rift’ in the camp over bonuses.

The skipper however frowned that the matter has been blown out of proportion by the media.

Yobo, while speaking in an interview conducted by the team’s Media Officer, Ben Alaya stressed that there was nothing wrong with the players asking for their rights.

“The players have to be happy, as the captain of the team, there is no way I can be happy if the players are not.

“Yes there was a meeting and the meeting is still going to continue,” he stressed.

He went further: “You can’t stop the players from asking for their rights.

“This was a very peaceful meeting between the players and the officials I am surprised that it even came out in the media,” he said.

The Super Eagles will play Iran on Monday, June 16 in their first Group F match in Curitiba and Nigerians expect the team to start the campaign on a good note by winning the match.

The team’s next match will be against Bosnia on Saturday, June 21 also in Curitiba before the last group match against Argentina.
