Yobe APC chieftain dumps party for PDP, predicts victory for Atiku

Kori said considering the popularity and support of Atiku across all the six geopolitical zones, the election will be an easy ride for him

A former House of Representatives member from Yobe State, Lawan Mammodu Kori, has ditched the All Progressives Congress (APC) and pitches tent with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Kori represented Nangere/Potiskum federal constituency from 2007 to 2011. He announced his defection to the PDP today in his country home in Postiskum.

Addressing journalists, Kori said the PDP presidential flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar, will win the February 25 presidential election.

“I have decided to dump the ruling APC and join the PDP,” he said.

Kori added: “In the past, I belonged to the PDP family who gave me their mandate to represent them at the National Assembly from 2007 to 2011. I remain grateful for that. I left them for APC, but after some time I felt I should return to my beloved party, the PDP.”

Kori said the PDP made him what he is today, saying: “I will never forget the good gesture of the party. We will actively work in ensuring its victory at all levels come 2023 general elections.”

The former lawmaker also predicted that PDP presidential flag bearer Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has the capacity to become Nigeria’s President in 2023. He said  considering the popularity and support of Atiku across all the six geopolitical zones, the election will be an easy ride for Atiku.

Atiku is the type of leader that Nigeria needs at this material time for it to wax stronger economically, politically and socially.

“He will be in charge of steering the affairs of the country when giving the mandate to become President,” he added.
