Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, has confirmed that the face-off between the Super Eagles and the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) is still ongoing.
He made this known while providing an update on the rift stemming from a disagreement over bonus payments.
Troost-Ekong and his teammates had earlier boycotted training on Tuesday, despite Nigeria’s upcoming World Cup qualifying playoff against Gabon on Thursday, over unresolved allowances owed to them.
The NFF is said to be owing the team bonuses for years, while the coach, Eric Chelle, and his backroom staff are also owed salaries.

Despite claims by the National Sports Commission (NSC) that all outstanding payments have been processed, Troost-Ekong claimed no agreement has been reached between the players and the NFF.
While sharing a post by BBC journalist, Oluwashina Okeleji, on X, the Super Eagles defender wrote: “Once resolution is found, we will be the first to confirm.
”Any other statement/claim or especially demands other than the rightful request written about below is FALSE.”
”All we want and continue to do is focus on the big games ahead.”
