A former National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Eddy Olafeso, has described the Federal High Court’s order stopping his party from holding its national convention—scheduled for November 15 to 16 in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State—as the climax of “judicial rascality.”

He made this known on Tuesday while featuring as a guest on the Channels Television programme, ‘Politics Today.’

Olafeso further alleged that those opposing the party’s national convention are aiming to establish a one-party state in Nigeria.

Reacting to the court’s verdict, he said, “The restraining order from the Federal High Court today against our scheduled convention did not come as a shock to us. A group is focused on ensuring that they destroy the party completely, but we will not allow it. Good will prevail over evil.”

The PDP chieftain went on to say the main opposition party will not be deterred by the ruling and expressed optimism that the convention would still hold.

Olafeso further noted that those working against the PDP had ulterior motives aimed at weakening the opposition.
