World Athletics Relays: AFN enters four relay events for China championship

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) will take part in four of the six events slated for the World Athletics Relays which holds in Guangzhou China between May 10th and 11th.
The Nigerian contingent will feature in 4 x100m men, 4 x100m women, 4 x 100m mixed and 4 x 400m mixed relays.
AFN scribe Israel Inwang Mfon, said, the federation had to place premium on areas of comparative advantage and medal prospects.
It will be noted that at the 2024 edition of the World Athletics Relays in Nassau Bahamas, all the non-Olympics events were removed. Before then, there were events like 4 x 800m relay, 4 x 1500m relay, 4 x 200m relay, distance medley relay, shuttle huddles relay and 2 x 2 x 400m relay.
These non-Olympics events were removed in 2024 and only the Olympics events namely 4 x 100m relay and 4 x 400m relay were retained.
The mixed versions of these events will bring the number of events at the 2025 edition in Guangzhou China to six.
Nassau 2024 featured five events, but the introduction of a mixed 4 x 100m relays at Guangzhou 2025 will bring the number to six.
How the federation is yet to released names of athletes to run the aforementioned events in China next month
