Olayinka said FCT Minister, Wike will be on popular Channels TV programme, ‘Politic Today’ on September 18.

Lere Olayinka, media aide to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has announced that his principal will be a guest of a popular TV station later in the week despite rumours that he is in the United Kingdom to seek medical attention.
Speaking via his X page on Sunday, the
Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media to the FCT Minister, claimed his boss will be on a popular political programme on Thursday, September 18.
Prior to this, a report by an online medium widely shared by social media users indicated that Wike travelled to the UK.
According to the outlet, sources privy to the minister’s health status informed it that Wike has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and is currently under medical management.
The news which wasn’t published by other credible media outlets sparked speculations about Wike’s well being as netizens noted that he hasn’t made any public appearance in a while.
Amid the anxiety over the minister’s whereabouts, Olayinka took to his verified social media handle to state that his boss will be granting an interview in 4 days’ time.
“FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, will be on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 7PM to 8:30PM.” he wrote.
Despite not referencing the earlier innuendoes about the FCT minister’s health challenge, Nigerians who commented on the post argued it was shared to refute the rumours.
