The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has stated that the upcoming Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention will demonstrate to Nigerians and the international community that, despite the party’s setbacks, it remains resilient and will eventually bounce back.

He made this known recently in Abuja during an inspection of the convention venue, following a meeting with party stakeholders ahead of the event.

Over 2,000 PDP delegates from across the 36 states of the federation are expected to converge on the Velodrome at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, for the national convention.

Speaking ahead of the event, Wike noted that all necessary arrangements have been concluded, and he urged delegates to maintain peace and order before, during, and after the exercise. He further emphasised the importance of discipline and unity in ensuring a hitch-free process.

The former Rivers State Governor said: ‘For me, this is a job well done. You can see we are not over-decorating; this is what is called a proper arrangement. I am sure that Nigerians will be happy with what they see. It will be a testimony that will lead Nigerians to say that indeed, the PDP has returned.

‘This well-organised convention will give the impression that we are prepared for the future, and I am happy that all those concerned have put in the effort and commitment to ensure the convention becomes a reality.’
