Wenger insists Arsenal can reach Champions League final

Wenger, however, urged Arsenal to avoid getting a red card, if they want to qualify for the final of the European competition.

Former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has made it known that the current players of the Premier League club have what it takes to qualify for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) final.

The French tactical made this known while featuring on a programme on Sky Sports.

Arsenal will host French club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the first leg of their semi-final tie on Tuesday night. 

Speaking ahead of the eagerly anticipated semi-final clash, Wenger praised their defensive solidity of the North London club.

The Frenchman, however,  believes Mikel Arteta’s men need to avoid getting a red card, if they want to give themselves the best chance possible.

Speaking on the show, Wenger said, “[It is important] that you have no sending off or stupid reactions at some stage.

“Overall, I believe Arsenal is very solid defensively and, over the two legs that will have a big importance.”

Arsenal have only played in the final of the Champions League once, when they threw away a one-goal lead to lose 2-1 to Barcelona in 2006.
