Former governor of Imo State, Senetor Rochas Okorocha, has said Nigerians have enough reasons to celebrate the country’s 60th Independence anniversary.
Speaking on a TVC programme, “Journalists Hangout”, Okorocha stated that for the fact that Nigerians have a country they could call theirs was enough to celebrate.
He said that Nigeria would be a great and prosperous country in the next 10 years.
“I see a grate Nigeria in 10 years time, its either we survive or get distroyed.
Nigerians should celebrate Nigeria at 60, there’s no place like this country, let’s learn to celebrate our country than put it down. I see a grate nation that would be properous”.
He affirmed that the trouble that bedeviled this country stems from politicians not really understanding governance in the real sense of it.
“We had democracy when we knew nothing about democratic governance, the problem with Nigeria is that leaders also seem to identify with people in their geographical zones; people are not free to appreciate a leader from other zones and it’s not healthy. A leader should be a leader of all Nigerians. “Every Nigerian leader should try to identify with people in other zones to avoid element of negligence and disunity of people from other zones”.
