Vinicius Jr scored Real Madrid’s goal against City in the first leg at the Bernabéu, but was shut out by Man City’s defence at Etihad

Brazil and Real Madrid winger, Vinicius Jr has explained why Los Blancos were annihilated by Premier League champions, Manchester City in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League (UCL) semi-final tie at the Etihad on Wednesday night.
The La Liga giants, who are the reigning UCL champions suffered an embarrassing 4-0 defeat in the encounter and were ultimately knocked out of the European elite competition.
Guardiola’s men prior to the clash, needed a win to secure their second UCL final in three seasons, and they did so with class after forcing Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg.
A first-half double by Bernardo Silva in the 28th and 37th minutes and second-half goals from Manuel Akanji and World Cup winner, Julián Álvarez, handed the final ticket to Pep Guardiola’s side.

The English champions, who are chasing a treble, qualified on a 5-1 goal aggregate and will now face Inter Milan, who got to the final after beating local rivals, AC Milan both home and away.
Reacting to the heavy loss, Vinicius Jr said Real Madrid lost the game because they didn’t play according to their coach’s instructions.
“[We lost because] we have not managed to do what [Carlo] Ancelotti has asked us,” El Chiringuito quoted him as saying.
