Enzo Fernández names Toni Kroos as most fascinating opponent

Enzo Fernández was privileged to play against Kroos in a UEFA Champions League (UCL) clash between Real Madrid and Chelsea.

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández has named former Real Madrid star Toni Kroos as the opposition player who has impressed him the most in his career so far.

He made the admission recently while speaking about Kroos, who retired from professional football in 2024 following the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament.

The 36-year-old Madrid legend won numerous trophies, including multiple UEFA Champions League titles and domestic league honours, during his time in La Liga.

During Kroos’s tenure at the Spanish club, Fernández had the opportunity to face him in a Champions League encounter between Real Madrid and Chelsea.

Speaking about the German midfielder, the Argentina international noted how deeply impressed he was by Kroos’s performance during that match.

“The opponent player that impressed me the most? Toni Kroos,” Fernández said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“It was Real Madrid vs Chelsea at the Bernabéu, and he was so impressive. Luka Modrić too.”
