The rally, held at Ekwueme Square, Awka, attracted PDP faithful and an unexpectedly large number of supporters. Anambra is the home state of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and the centre of gravity for his campaign.

Vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party and Governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, interacted with the rally attendees in the native Igbo language. Okowa is from the Igbo-speaking part of Delta State. He reiterated Atiku’s promise to set aside $10 billion towards supporting small and medium-scale enterprises to boost trade in the state.
