Former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi has joined the ongoing #OccupyNASS protest at the National Assembly, demanding mandatory real-time transmission of election results.
The protest, called by the Situation Room—a coalition of over 70 civil society organisations—converged in Abuja yesterday under the banner #OccupyNASS to oppose the Senate’s rejection of provisions for electronic transmission of election results.
Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi also joined the protest yesterday.
On Tuesday, Amaechi stormed the protest grounds in solidarity with Nigerians demanding that the Senate meet their demands.
