A statement from the information director of UNILORIN, Kunle Akogun, said the expulsion came after the Vice Chancellor, Wahab Egbewole, approved the recommendations of the school’s students disciplinary committee.

Six final-year students of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) have been expelled from the school as a result of their involvement in examination malpractice.
The students are among the nine altogether expelled for the same reason.
The remaining three were of the lower levels including one who was in 100 level and is the only female student among them.

The affected UNILORIN students were drawn from faculties/departments such as Agriculture/Aquaculture and Fisheries; Agriculture/Agricultural Extension and Rural Development; Arts/Linguistics and Nigerian Languages; CIS/Library and Information Science, CIS/ Telecommunication Science.
Others were from Education/Adult and Primary Education Studies; Engineering and Tech/Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Engr and Tech/Materials and Metallurgical Engineering as well as Life Science/Zoology.
