The newly elected Dean of the Faculty of Arts, University of Lagos, Professor Olufunke Adeboye, has begun a welfare programme by giving free meals to students of the faculty who are writing their examination.

This was in fulfilment of one of her campaign promises that students of the Faculty would no longer write their exams on empty  stomach.

Besides, she kick-started the programme on October 20, 2019, when she ordered the students to converge on Room402 of the Faculty for a lecture with them.

During the session, she lamented the plight of many students, whom she said read on empty stomach.

Her words: “It will be terrible for students to read on empty stomach. Reading will not circulate.”

  On the feeding arrangement,

Adeboye explained that the pack contains “little of everything” that would zero hunger in the course of the exams, which started on October 21, 2019.

Also, the Dean of Arts said that four meal tickets would be distributed to every students whose names she received from their respective Course Advisers.  “Each meal ticket is tagged, N300, and this will enable the students eat four free meals during the exams week.

“By presenting the tickets to Iya-Moria, in Room A215, in the Faculty, their desired meals would simply be sold to them,” she said.
