UNILAG celebration leads to Sanwo-Olu meeting Pelumi the trail blazer

Pelumi Nubi was on Monday hosted by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu Alausa at Lagos House on the Marina, the day after lecturers and students celebrated her unique road trip from London at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) when she arrived the gate, the final point of her journey through 17 countries to Nigeria.

Pelumi now has the distinction of being the first woman to drive solo from the United Kingdom through France and Spain (in Europe), down to Morocco and Western Sahara (in North Africa) then through the West African stretch of Guinea-Bissau all the way across the border in Benin Republic to Nigeria.

She drove a Peugeot 107.

“Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu receives Pelumi Nubi  @peluminubi, a United Kingdom based Nigerian that embarked on a solo road trip from London to Lagos, today at the Lagos House, Marina,” twitted Sanwo-Olu’s Media Aide Jubril Gawat

“Pelumi is here in company of her dad, her mum, Chairman Nigerian Diaspora Commission, Mrs @abikedabiri, VC UNILAG and family @OloriSupergal and other members of her team.”

Pelumi, a travel content creator, began her solo trip from London on Wednesday January 31 and arrived in Lagos on Sunday April 7.
