The domestic league in Ukraine where majority of the national team players ply their trades was suspended after Russian invasion

The Football Association of Ukraine has urged FIFA to postpone their 2022 World Cup playoff against Scotland on March 24 amid Russia’s invasion of the European country.
According to Reuters, the match was expected to take place at Hampden Park in Glasgow and the winner of the clash will face Austria or Wales for a place in the World Cup final in Qatar.
However, the Russian invasion of Ukraine has led to uncertainty about when the World Cup qualifier in Glasgow will take place.

The World Cup draw is scheduled to take place in Doha on 1 April but the tournament does not take place until later in the year.
“Fifa can confirm it has received a request from the Ukrainian Association of Football today to postpone their matches scheduled for March,” football’s governing body said in a statement.
“Fifa remains in regular contact with Uefa and the Scottish Football Association to find an appropriate solution.
“Fifa expresses its deepest solidarity to everybody affected by what is happening in Ukraine. A further update will be provided in due course.”
The domestic league was also suspended after the Russian President ordered the invasion of Ukraine.
With the majority of the Ukrainian players plying their trade in their domestic league, bringing them together to play has become nearly impossible.
