Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, has said his team could have been annihilated by Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) match played in France on Wednesday night, insisting the Reds were lucky to lose 2-0.
The Dutch tactician made this known after the elite European encounter while speaking with TNT Sports.
Liverpool were outclassed in the first leg of their quarter-final match by their hosts and stand on the brink of elimination.
Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia netted in each half to give PSG a strong advantage going into the second leg at Anfield.
However, the French giants missed a host of opportunities to win the encounter by an even bigger margin.

Addressing journalists after the match, Slot admitted that the Premier League leaders could have suffered a more damaging loss given their performance on the night.
He added that having escaped with just a 2-0 loss, he is confident that Liverpool can turn the tie around in England.
He further noted that the manner in which the first goal his team conceded went in was “tough to take”.
Slot said: “Looking back at the whole game, I think we’re lucky to only be losing 2-0.
“The first goal was tough to take.”
He added: “I think it’s good for us that we’re still in the competition and we know how strong Anfield can be for us.”
