Bayern Munich ran riot in Italy on Tuesday night, annihilating their hosts, Atalanta, 6-1 in a UEFA Champions League (UCL) game played at the Gewiss Stadium.
Goals from Josip Stanišić, Serge Gnabry, Nicolas Jackson, Jamal Musiala, and a brace from Michael Olise completed a rout for the Bundesliga giants.
The Serie A side, however, netted a consolation goal in added time through Mario Pašalić.

Atalanta have a mountain to climb when they visit Bayern at the Allianz Arena in Germany next week for the second leg.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid also walloped the visiting Tottenham Hotspur 5-2 in another UCL quarter-final fixture played in Spain.
Barcelona, on the other hand, needed a last-minute penalty to salvage a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
Earlier in the day, Galatasaray edged their Round of 16 encounter against Premier League champions Liverpool 1-0 at RAMS Park in Istanbul, Turkey.
