A Lagos State High Court judge, S. O. Solebo, has said that the United States President, Donald Trump, detests Nigerians because they tell lies. She said it was the reason he banned Nigerians from obtaining the U.S. Visa.

Justice Solebo sitting at the Special Offences and Domestic Violence Court 26 in Ikeja, stated this while asking a prosecuting counsel to link his evidence to the charge against the defendant, upon hearing a case between the Federal Republic of Nigeria versus Francis Nwaka.

Solebo was angry because she was almost misled with contradictory information from the prosecutor.

Justice Solebo relating her experience at the American Embassy while she was privileged to work with Americans for a while said: “It is because of insincerity that made the Western world not to trust us. I remember while I was working with American Embassy, they never trusted us. When issues like this come up, they will send their own foreign lawyers to us. I have seen them send senators that I don’t want to mention names, even doctors to jail.

“Now look at the issue the British Embassy gave you and ICPC to find out, and carry out further investigation, you did nothing about it.

“If you don’t know, they have their own lawyers to check all of these things. Even the one that does not go to school is wiser than a PhD holder in Nigeria and they have their ways. They pretend they don’t know, and when they want to check, they send their lawyers and they know how to catch us.

“That is why Trump detests us, it is also the reason he banned Nigerians from getting U.S. Visa. The charge you gave, there is nothing to show that you received a receipt from Manchester United from the certificate.

“We should not forget that the ICPC and EFCC were all set up by them in the first place to check lies and help Nigerian workers with issues like this.

“Let’s be truthful as lawyers. We may wish to help people but we are not favouring the society,” She stated.

Justice Solebo, however struck out the case and discharged the defendant on the account that the charge of receiving the receipt was not clear, and that the defendant denied knowing the man that allegedly gave him the receipt.
