Troops rescue woman abducted by Boko Haram 10 years ago

The troops laid an ambush at the logistic crossing point of the terrorists along the Yuwe Road, Komala, in Bama LGA in Borno State

Troops of the Forward Operating Base Molai, working alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, have rescued a woman abducted by Boko Haram terrorists 10 years ago. 

This was disclosed via a post shared on X  on Friday by renowned counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama.

According to him, the troops laid an ambush at the logistic crossing point of the terrorists along the Yuwe Road, Komala, in Bama LGA in Borno State and the counter-offensive patrol led to a heavy gun battle.

He went on to say that though the military emerged victorious, some of the
Boko Haram terrorists reportedly fled in disarray, thus abandoning their family properties and ammunition.

He further stated that those rescued included one Aisha Usman, who was abducted in 2014 and forcefully married to a Boko Haram member.

He added that she was rescued  alongside the three daughters she had while in captivity.

Speaking via his verified social media page, Makama tweeted: “Preliminary investigation revealed that Aisha Usman was forcefully abducted when Boko Haram invaded her home in HANTSA village in Gulak district Madagali LGA of Adamawa State in 2014.

“She was moved to Njimiya camp of the Boko Haram in Sambisa Forest where she was forcefully married to one of the terrorists with three children.

“The rescued family were also taken to the military custody for profiling and further necessary action.”
