The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has continued with its protest in Kaduna despite presence of armed thugs who attempted to intimidate them from proceeding with the strike which enters day three.
The NLC called for a five-day warning strike to demand the recall of 4,000 workers sacked by the Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
Early in the morning, thugs numbering about 100 occupied the secretariat of the NLC, which serves as the meeting point for the protesting workers.
The intervention of the police helped to dislodge the hoodlums who were bent on dispersing the protesters.
The police Public Relations Officer, ASP Muhammad Jalige, said 20 thugs have been arrested so far.
