The prelude

By Okey Anueyiagu

Welcome to the Part II series of MY GRANDMOTHER, HER GODS AND I.

My previous published Part I of the same story, generated a lot of buzz, with many readers asking for the immediate release of the Part II.

My Prelude to the Part I, was a short note about why I write, and about how we have stopped reading. In it, I advocated for us to read more, as I think that it may help make us better people.

It appears that my efforts and my advocacy is making some people find interest in reading again. This, no doubt, gladdens my heart.

My writing sometimes is brutally frank, as I rely on telling my stories often rendered in excruciating detail  for sanity, and for stating the truth that are hidden or forgotten in our past history and lives.

My stories, somehow reveal the deeply familiar issues of my interiority and our collective vulnerability.

Even as I use a lot of humour to douse our pains, and the many tragedies of our existence, every detail of my stories, both in my book; Biafra, The Horrors of War, and in my many other writings, are all  seared in my mind as authentic happenings within our emotional state of consciousness and being.

Following this PRELUDE is the Part II section of the story of My Grandmother, Her Gods and I.

The Part III, and probably the Final series will follow soon, and as I always mention, those who have time to read my stories should do so, and for those who do not care about things like this, I apologize, and ask them to ignore and move on.

Your reactions either way, will be appreciated.

Cheers and enjoy.
