The meaning of hope
By Abraham E. Nwankwo
From time to time in life,
The Supreme Being does do,
A favour that really belittles,
All your problems too big.
How much more miserable.
It could possibly have been!
So it is never so bad,
As to make you give up.
The intolerable limit in life,
You never really reach.
Always a gap exists between,
That and where you now are.
Nearer to it you surely get,
But arrive it you never do.
Always something left to grab,
And that’s the meaning of hope.
