Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag, has said Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s investment in the Premier League club has nothing to do with their 3-2 win against high flying Aston Villa at Old Trafford.
Ratcliffe’s sporting guru, Sir Dave Brailsford, watched from the stands as the Red Devils came back from 2-0 down to beat visiting Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
A brace from Garnacho in the 59th and 71st minutes and the first Premier League goal from Hojlund eleven minutes later, ensured Man United cancelled out first half goals from McGinn and Dendoncker and picked up the 3 points at stake.
It was their first fixture since Ratcliffe, the chairman of Ineos, had agreed to a $1.3billion deal to buy a 25% stake and take control of all football matters at the club.

Speaking after the match, Ten Hag said the arrival of the billionaire did not impact his players performance on the night or the impressive win.
The Dutchman, however, hailed his arrival at the club and described it as a “positive” thing.
He said: “I don’t think it has had an impact on the players.
“For me, I was kept informed in the whole process, so I knew what was going on.
“We’re looking forward. I think it is positive for the club that they are stepping in. They have a lot of experience in sport at the highest level — F1, a cycling team, football clubs.
“They can only help us and support us to get our targets. We are looking forward. They want to work with us and we want to work with them.”
