Nigerian pundit and former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has slammed Argentine international Enzo Fernández over his recent comments about the Blues, following the club’s exit from the UEFA Champions League (UCL).
He hit out at the midfielder while speaking on the latest edition of the Obi One Podcast.
Following Chelsea’s heavy defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League Round of 16 last month, Fernández criticised his team, stating that the French outfit were tactically superior to Liam Rosenior’s men.
The World Cup winner also made headlines after telling ESPN Argentina that he was unsure about his future at Stamford Bridge beyond the end of this season.
Furthermore, in another interview with LuzuTV, he remarked that if he could live in any city in Europe, he would choose Madrid.
Reacting to these comments during his podcast, Mikel suggested that Fernández is not a true leader.

He also chided him for disrespecting the West London club and the fans who pay his wages.
Wading into the controversy, the former Super Eagles captain said: “That is not a leader.”
He added: “That is something where if you have leaders—leaders that players respect and look up to—you wouldn’t come out and make those statements.
“You don’t make that statement after we’ve been disgracefully dumped out of the Champions League while wearing the captain’s armband.
“No player is bigger than the football club. If he’s had enough, put your hands up and f*** off, and we move on.
“I can understand a little bit of frustration, but you still have to respect the badge, you still have to respect the football club, and you still have to respect the fans, because the fans are the ones who pay your wages.”
