The Ondo State Government has expressed profound joy following the Supreme Court judgment that finally laid to rest all litigations arising from the November governorship election in the state.
In a unanimous verdict delivered yesterday, the apex court affirmed the resounding victory of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, who swept all 18 Local Government Areas in what has been described as the historic “18–0 Promax” mandate.
In a statement issued by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Idowu Ajanaku, while reacting to the judgment said Governor Aiyedatiwa dedicated his victory to God Almighty, appreciating His grace and sustenance throughout the electoral and legal journey. He described the ruling as a validation of the people’s mandate and a reinforcement of their faith in democracy.
The Governor extended special thanks to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he described as a father figure whose guidance and unwavering support were invaluable to his political journey. He also lauded the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, party leaders, and loyal members across all levels for their solidarity.
Aiyedatiwa reserved his deepest gratitude for the people of Ondo State, commending their resilience, loyalty, and faith in his leadership. He also applauded other candidates, particularly the PDP flagbearer, Chief Alfred Ajayi Agboola, for demonstrating rare sportsmanship before, during, and after the polls.
Calling on all political stakeholders to close ranks, the Governor stressed the need for unity and cooperation to drive development. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the “OUR EASE Agenda,” a people-oriented blueprint already making an impact in key sectors.
“With the distractions of litigation now over, our full focus is back on governance. The coming months will witness accelerated development, purposeful leadership, and transformational projects that will elevate Ondo State,” the Governor assured.
Aiyedatiwa therefore reiterated his administration’s resolve to deliver on its promises and build a greater, prosperous Ondo State.
