The Opta supercomputer has backed North London outfit Arsenal to win this season’s English Premier League (EPL) title, giving them a 97.17% chance.

The latest prediction was made with only seven fixtures of the 38 league encounters remaining.

Arsenal currently sit nine points clear of their nearest rivals, Manchester City, having garnered 70 points in 31 games so far.

The supercomputer gave City just a 2.83% chance of beating Arsenal to the title, despite the Cityzens having a game in hand.

Opta, which added that Manchester United and Aston Villa will finish in the top four, gave both teams no chance of winning the league.
