Toro said Nigeria could still qualify from the remaining six matches if the NFF reinforce the technical crew.
While most football followers of Nigerian football believe that the Super Eagles have blown their chances of qualifying for the World Cup, a former secretary general of the Nigerian football governing body thinks otherwise.
Toro was the general secretary of the NFF when it was called the NFA while Nigerian football held attraction to the globe.
He explained that the Super Eagles can still qualify despite not winning any of their four matches so far.
“They can still qualify from the remaining six matches if NFF does the needful by reinforcing the technical crew,” remarked Sani Toro.
Nigeria has not had a stable coaching crew since Gernot Rohr was sacked in 2021 after his record five-year tenure.
Coincidentally, it was Rohr that roared back and led Benin Republic to beat Nigeria for the first time in a grade A duel since 1959.
Toro also commented on players’ attitude asking that only “our best and committed players in each of the remaining matches should be employed and getting moral and financial supports from corporate sponsors.”
Toro urged Nigerians not to despair and should please continue to support and pray for the Almighty God to see Nigeria qualify for both African Cup of Nations and World Cup.
The second round of the qualifying series of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations has yet to commence.
