Super Eagles have suffered another injury blow ahead of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations’ opener against the Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.

This is as Sadiq Umar pulled out of the tournament after picking up a knee injury, which is expected to keep him out of action for at least three weeks.

The Real Sociedad striker, who joined Germany based Victor Boniface on the treatment table has now flown back to Spain, where he will be looked after by his club’s medics.

His departure leaves Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, with just Napoli Striker, Victor Osimhen as the only fit striker in camp.
