Super Eagles back in Lagos for crucial Cape Verde encounter

Super Eagles back in Lagos ahead of 2022 World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde, the match will determine who will move to the playoff

Nigeria’s Super Eagles are back in Lagos after beating Liberia 2-0 in Morocco to stay at the top of Group C  in matchday five of the 2022 World Cup qualifier.

The players, technical crew, and NFF officials touched down at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos around 9 am on Sunday via charted Air Peace Airline.

“We have landed Lagos, Nigeria safely via chartered AIR PEACE AIRLINE,” the team wrote on its Facebook page.

They thanked Air Peace for a smooth journey back to Nigeria, they also said they are back in the country to prepare for the game against Cape Verde.  

“It was a smooth journey. Thanks to the entire Air Peace crew for the great hospitality. Hey fans, you should fly Air Peace this festive season.

“We’re back to work. Getting set for the game against Cape Verde on Tuesday.”

The Eagles went into the game against Liberia top of Group C with 9 points, and closely followed by Cape Verde, who had 7points, 2 points adrift of them 

The Super Eagles after beating Liberia must now get at least a draw against the Blue Sharks in Teslim Balogun Stadium on Tuesday, November 16,  to scale through to the playoff.

The Blue Sharks of Cape Verde on the other hand, know they must win the encounter to keep their qualification  dream alive

The encounter at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Tuesday will kick off by 5 pm Nigeria time.
