TikTok creator Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, has revealed why she shaved her hair for her white wedding, dismissing the notion that it was part of her traditional marriage rites.
She addressed the misconceptions surrounding her hairstyle directly during a video broadcast, days after the highly publicised celebrity wedding.
Jarvis and fellow online streamer Habeeb Hamzat, aka Peller, tied the knot traditionally on 1 August 2026, and subsequently held their white wedding on Saturday, 8 August 2026.
Following the event, netizens who noticed that the skit maker had shaved her head took to social media, speculating that it was a cultural requirement in her community.

Refuting the rumours, Jarvis explained that she shaved her hair simply because her stylist advised it.
She went on to note that she has “very stubborn hair”, adding that they decided it was the best way to achieve their desired look for the ceremony.
Expressing joy that the event was over, she said, “The wedding is finally over and I’m super happy. I’m proud of myself and my husband.
“For those of you speculating that I shaved my hair for my wedding as part of some tribal marriage rites, shut up.
“I shaved my hair because I wanted my hair installation to be perfect. That is what my hair stylist recommended because I have very stubborn hair. Most of my hair installations, like my frontal, have not been sitting pretty because of my hairline.”
